Abstract

This report provides an improved biotic ligand model (BLM) to predict aquatic toxicity effect levels of silver. The computational tool considers the effect of site-specific surface water quality characteristics on silver speciation and bioavailability in the extrapolation from laboratory waters to natural waters. The report also provides an expanded database for use in derivation of a BLM-based silver water quality criteria (WQC). The U.S. EPA has indicated its intent to incorporate the silver BLM into an updated WQC for silver. Published by WERF. 106 pages. Soft cover and online PDF. (2008)
