Abstract

Addresses the challenge of balancing multiple, and often conflicting, water quality objectives, such as disinfection and disinfection by-product control, taste and odor control, biological regrowth control, filtration, and corrosion control. Reports simultaneous optimization of the entire treatment process train at two case study utilities. Extends the case studies to provide a framework and guidance document for use by other utilities.
