Abstract

Provides a feasibility study and economic analysis for evaluating the role of rural electric cooperatives to manage and operate small water systems. Presents case studies of rural electric cooperatives providing significant assistance to water and wastewater utilities, especially contract operation and maintenance services. Also includes results of a survey of U.S. rural electric cooperatives to assess their overall interest in future involvement with small water utility operations. Rural Water/Wastewater Study.
