Stormwater and Algae Management
Webcast details coming soon!
The Water Research Foundation's Technology Scan webcasts are designed to help you become a Utility of the Future! This webcast focused on innovative water technologies related to stormwater and algae management. The following products and systems were featured during the presentations:
Sustainable Streams – Detain H2O
The Detain H2O Detention Basin Retrofit Device improves stormwater quality by prolonging storage times. The device restricts discharge below the critical threshold for erosion in the receiving stream. Low to medium storm events will pass through the throttled retrofit device and optional filter media, while a portion of larger flows can be routed through the bypass to maintain flood protection.
Phytoxigene – CyanoDTec
Phytoxigene™ CyanoDTec is a molecular (qPCR) test that detects and quantifies the presence of toxin-producing cyanobacteria. The test measures genes responsible for the production of specific toxins in cyanobacteria, and can specifically identify genes for microcystin/nodularin, cylindrospermopsin and saxitoxin production. CyanoDTec can detect the presence of toxin producers before they reach thresholds where standard assays detect the toxin.
