The objectives of this project were to (1) study the effects of pre-oxidants on TOC in terms of DBP formation potential and adsorption onto GAC; (2) investigate potential for chlorine and organics reaction within GAC adsorption sites under a pre-oxidation strategy, and (3) understand the impact of pre-oxidation on GAC reactivation frequency and the overall economics of including pre-oxidation with GAC.
