Evaluating Risk Management Frameworks and Tools, and Their Application for Managing Source Water Risks in the United States
This update reflects the most recent 6 months of project activity. In this period, the research team completed its evaluation of risk management frameworks for source water risk management (SWRM), and made recommendations for a hybridized assembly of materials from the AWWA/ANSI G-300 Standard, the World Health Organization’s Water Safety Plan, and some other materials and frameworks. A workshop was held at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in May, in which the PAC, participating utilities, and others joined the research team and endorsed the SWRM framework approach. The team is currently developing guidance for implementing the SWRM framework, which will be pilot tested at 4 utilities.
