Wastewater contains resources that can be recovered and commoditized, which in turn lessens the impact on the water environment. Nutrients, in particular phosphorus (P), are one of these resources which can threaten waterways but are also a highly valued commodity.
Participants in the P-Recovery Focus Area recognized that the industry is in need of a thorough analysis of best options and guidance for the selection and implementation of viable technologies. Their investigation is supplemented by ongoing research at The Water Research Foundation.
