As neighboring communities move closer to utility facilities in urban and suburban areas and the public's expectations grow greater with respect to control and elimination of odors, utilities have made odor control one of their primary concerns. The Odor Control Focus Group has been created to bring together a peer network of utility owners/operators with a vested interest and extensive experience on the topic. From evaluating the effectiveness of various chemical controls to examining advances in odor modeling, the group is leveraging resources and knowledge. The group seeks to understand common challenges, identify promising technologies, share ideas and experiences, and collaborate on the implementation of innovative and cost-effective solutions to address odor and corrosion concerns in collection systems and at the plant.
