SARS-CoV-2 Wastewater Surveillance Research Coordination Network Kickoff Meeting
The Water Research Foundation facilitated the initial kickoff meeting of the National Science Foundation-funded Research Coordination Network on SARS-CoV-2 Wastewater Surveillance. There has been significant public and researcher interest in SARS-CoV-2 wastewater surveillance in monitoring COVID-19 presence and prevalence within communities. However, despite its potential and the excitement surrounding applications of SARS-CoV-2 wastewater surveillance, critical research questions remain. The goal of the Research Coordination Network is to connect researchers with key stakeholders to rapidly advance the science of SARS-CoV-2 wastewater surveillance. The meeting included an introduction to Research Coordination Network activities and several lightning talks that will provided an overview of the status of the SARS-CoV-2 wastewater surveillance field.
