Title:Technology Primers for the Simultaneous Compliance Tool

Technology primers were developed to support the Simultaneous Compliance Tool created as part of project #3115, Decision Tool to Help Utilities Develop Simultaneous Compliance Strategies. The primers describe treatment technologies applicable for both small and large drinking water systems, potential unintended consequences from using them, and approximate capital investment and operating/maintenance costs.

Long Description:
Primers are available for the following treatment technologies:
  • New chlorine application
  • Optimization of chlorination practices
  • Chemical sequestration
  • Ultraviolet disinfection
  • Enhanced coagulation
  • Microfiltration/ultra filtration
  • Post-filtration GAC contactors
  • Non-GAC adsorption process
  • Aeration and air stripping
  • Oxidation filtration
  • Ozone and ozone-related AOPs
  • Chlorine dioxide
  • Lime softening
  • Nan filtration/reverse osmosis
  • Ion exchange/adsorption
  • GAC Filter adsorbed
  • Conversion to chloramines
  • pH adjustment
  • Permanganate addition
  • Magnetic ion exchange
  • Non GAC biological filters
