The Tailored Collaboration Program enables Water Research Foundation to partner with our utility subscribers on more specialized or regional research. The program provides Foundation support for projects that a utility or group of utilities propose to address a local or regional issue. It also allows participating utilities to take advantage of the Foundation’s independent review process and professional project management expertise.

Twenty percent of the Foundation’s annual research budget is allocated to the Tailored Collaboration Program. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees obligates funds for the program each January. Foundation subscribers may submit proposals throughout the year for funding consideration in accordance with the Foundation’s Tailored Collaboration Proposal Guidelines. The Tailored Collaboration Review Committee is responsible for reviewing and approving funding for individual proposals.
