Small Utilities, Big
Challenges?
The Small System
Strategic Initiative addresses the unique needs of small and rural water
suppliers - the largest group of utilities in the U.S.
The Foundation
and its Board of Trustees feel it is important to provide research findings,
guidance and support to the small systems in the U.S.
As part of this
effort, research findings that impact small systems are shared or synthesized to
make them more suitable for their use.
How it
works
-
A Small System Task Force comprised of members of the National
Rural Water Association and the Foundation develops a strategy.
-
The Foundation allocates funds on an as-needed basis to sponsor
approved projects and distribute findings to small systems.

Our subscription allows us to increase service and reduce costs. And it allows us to plug into research that we otherwise couldn’t conceivably undertake on our own.
