The Foundation focuses research and explores new partnerships in these four strategic areas:

   1.  Management and Customer Relations – To improve water utilities’ efficiency, effectiveness and customer service.

   2.  Water Resources and Environmental Sustainability – To deliver safe drinking water by:

• Adhering to sustainable principles in system planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance.
• Employing practices that protect and sustain water quality and quantity, and other natural resources.

   3.  Water Quality – To effectively treat and deliver water, and manage distribution systems in a manner that protects public health and safety, and exceeds aesthetic expectations.

   4.  Infrastructure – To optimize infrastructure to deliver continuous, safe and uninterrupted water supply to customers.
