10/14/2008Endocrine Disruptors (EDC) / Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCP) Strategic Initiative Expert Workshop Report (pdf 1.06 mb)
On October 2-3, 2007, an Expert Workshop was held at Marina del Rey, California to get input from water industry experts on the development of suggested research projects for the EDCs and PPCPs Strategic Initiative. The workshop attendees included water utilities, consulting firms, universities, the USEPA, and Foundation staff. The workshop was facilitated by Ed Means of Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. This workshop report was developed from a white paper that summarizes the state of science and the expert workshop.
5/19/2008Source Water Protection Research Planning Workshop - Summary Report (pdf, 131 kb)
The Water Research Foundation and the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) conducted a joint Source Water Protection Research Planning workshop in August 2007. The primary goal of the workshop was to develop a multi-year research agenda that would produce information to help drinking water suppliers design and implement effective source water protection programs while achieving compliance with the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water and Clean Water Acts.

As input to the expert panel in development of a Strategic Plan for the Climate Change Strategic Initiative, an expert workshop was held in Denver, Colorado, on January 8 and 9.
10/17/2007Distribution System Water Quality Strategic Initiative Expert Workshop Report (pdf 1.59 mb)
As input to the Expert Panel in development of a Strategic Plan for the Distribution System Water Quality Strategic Initiative, an expert workshop was held May 30 and 31, 2007, in Englewood, Colorado. Twenty-one experts considered distribution system water quality concerns, and in breakout groups identified research projects to address high priority research needs. The workshop report includes a white paper on the state of knowledge in distribution system water quality that was prepared prior to the workshop to set the stage for productive discussions. Fourteen projects were identified by the workshop participants as particularly high priority, suitable for starting immediately. The workshop report was a primary input to the Expert Panel’s effort to develop strategic initiative objectives and the sequenced plan of projects to achieve those objectives.
