Practical Tool for Deciding Rehabilitation vs. Replacement of Cast Iron PipeUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
2/25/2011 10:33 AM

The Water Research Foundation (WRF) and the CSIRO National Flagship - Water for a Healthy Country are currently undertaking a research project with the aim of developing a decision support tool for small diameter cast iron pipes.

The purpose of this research is to develop a simple and practical tool in the form of guidelines and associated software that will facilitate asset managers to determine which cast iron distribution mains warrant renovation and which warrant replacement. The tool will focus on relatively small diameter (4 to 8 inch; 100 to 200 mm) cast iron water mains that are managed under a ‘run-to-fail’ strategy.

NOTE: You can re-enter the survey at anytime as long as you are entering the survey from the same IP address. If you have any difficulties accessing or re-entering the survey please contact David Beale (david.beale@csiro.au) for assistance. To save entries and continue later, select the ‘Done’ button on the last page.
